About the session
Theme: Risk analysis
Bad things can happen; as cyberattacks and system complexity increase, virtually any system might suffer a disastrous event. With the increasing government emphasis on resilience, we need to ask: how can we limit the damage to our stakeholders and organisation when that happens?
In this interactive workshop, you'll explore real-world disaster scenarios, identify consequences and assess resilience techniques such as canary releases, failover replication, customer communication and off-site logging. Using case studies and practical tools, you'll learn ways to limit harm, recover quickly, and empower your organisation to handle crises effectively.
Suitable for all service design professionals, this session provides actionable insights, a framework for resilience assessments, and materials to run similar workshops with your team.
Resilience engineering for software is a new topic that research predicts will become increasingly important over the next few years. This workshop provides an exciting introduction to it.
Participant takeaways:
- an understanding of the importance of resilience engineering for disaster planning
- an understanding of risk assessment techniques to justify development activity
- awareness of affordable resilience techniques as practical disaster ‘insurance’
