About the session
Tricia will unpick the ideas around what she calls Gloriously Ordinary Lives and how that gives us a lens to think about all our lives and how they work - not just the paid services we might need.
She will explore how design in public services is often so far away from Gloriously Ordinary - exposing the 'them and us’ mentality we so easily fall into as well as the focus on paid support as the solution to everything.
Tricia will introduce the idea of 'democratising life’ and how the way we think about the ideas around design in public services can shift from service design to focus on how we enable everyone to live Gloriously Ordinary Lives.
She will share examples from her own life and the lives of her family and get everyone thinking about the key question, ‘what would it take?’
